To configure and process statements successfully, the following process must be completed:

  1. Obtain and analyze the .txt host file.
  2. Configure Keywords, Document Types, and API settings. See Preliminary Configuration for more information.
  3. Create an object definition file (.odf). See Creating the .odf File for more information.
  4. Using the Object Definition Editor, configure objects and fields for the object definition file. See Working with Objects and Working with Fields for more information.
  5. Create layout files (.smt), inserting and configuring necessary objects. While there can only be one .odf per host file, there can be multiple statement layout files per .odf file. See Introduction to the Statement Designer for more information.
  6. Specify the Statement Format. See Statement Format for more information.
  7. Associate the Statement Format with a Class of Service. See Associating the Statement Format with a Class of Service for more information.
  8. Configure the Statement Composition process. See Statement Composition Processor for more information.
  9. Process statements into OnBase using the COLD processor. See Running the COLD Processor for more information.
