The Labels tab depends on the type of data selected. This window is for repeating data, used for a bar chart.

  1. Specify text and formatting for an optional title in the Chart heading section.
  2. If your configuration supports color, select a color for the heading text.
  3. Specify optional labels for the X and Y-axes in the Axis labels section.
  4. You can specify X-axis data points for bar charts in the Data labels section. Click the Use X-axis data labels check box and choose the field to use for the label from the Labels from field drop-down. The Data format button displays the External text formatting options dialog box for changing the default data display.
  5. If your configuration supports color, select a color for the axis and/or data labels.

    The following Labels window is for pie charts.

  6. Specify text and formatting for an optional title in the Chart heading section.
  7. If your configuration supports color, select a color for the heading text.
  8. Specify optional labels for the X and Y-axes in the Axis labels section.
  9. You can specify X-axis data points for bar charts in the Data labels section. Click the Use X-axis data labels check box and choose the field to use for the label from the Labels from field drop-down. The Data format button displays the External text formatting options dialog box for changing the default data display.
  10. If your configuration supports color, select a color for the axis and/or data labels.
  11. Type a name for a wedge of the pie chart in the edit field and click Add label. Continue this process until all wedges are labeled. When finished, use the Move up and Move down buttons so the order of the labels corresponds with the order in the Selected fields section on the Fields tab.
  12. If your configuration supports color, select a color for the data labels.
  13. Select the Append percent value to end of labels to add the numeric percentage of the chart next to the corresponding data label.
  14. Select the All labels on right side of chart. A key is displayed along the right margin of the chart indicating the color/pattern of the field, its label, and the percentage of the chart.
