The Configuration options dialog box contains options that apply to all files opened in the Designer. To access these options, select Configure | Editor options.
Available options are described in the following table:

Auto load last layout |
The last statement file (.smt) is always loaded into the Designer on startup. |

Auto load ODF |
The last object file is always loaded into the Designer on startup. |

Number of example |
Indicates how many repeating data type examples display when printing the statement (during testing phase). |

Show grid |
Automatically displays the background grid in the Designer. |

Show examples |
Automatically displays sample data on the statement when an .odf file is loaded with the statement file. |

Show guidelines |
Automatically shows previously configured guidelines when the statement is loaded into the Designer. |

Show bottom margin |
Automatically shows the bottom margin. |

Show foreign fields |
Automatically shows all fully qualified foreign field names in the field pick lists for external objects. This allows fields from other static objects to be used. Foreign fields are static, sticky, or linked fields that are outside of the object being used in a data stream. |
