The layout menu aids in the graphic design of the statement. These are tools for the design phase; they do not display on the Print Preview screen or the printed statement. Some of these menu options are also available from an object's right-click menu.

Layout Menu Option

Description

Show/Hide grid

Toggle option to display or hide a background grid for aligning objects.

Show/Hide examples

Toggle option to display or hide test data entered in the object definition file.

Show/Hide guidelines

Toggle option to display or hide guidelines previously added.

Show/Hide bottom margin

Toggle option to display or hide the bottom margin. The default is an 0.75-inch margin denoted by a broken line.

Show/Hide overlay image

Toggle option to display or hide an image that has been imported as an overlay for the statement.

Pin layers

Toggle option to display only the objects pinned to the layer selected. Available layers are All, First page, Second page, Interior pages, Last page, Even pages, and Odd pages. Selecting any of these options will not affect the output. This feature is only designed to aid in statement design.

Black and white only

Creates statement layouts using black and white colors

Basic color support

Creates statement layouts using 8-bit color. This option allows you to have some limited color options (48 colors) and helps to make file sizes smaller. Grayscale can be accomplished by using this color setting and colors in shades of gray.

True color support

Creates statement layouts using 24-bit color. This option gives you the ability to choose from a large spectrum of colors.

Align

Lines up the objects, using the “guide” as reference point.

  • Left: The left edge of all selected objects lines up vertically.

  • Horizontal center: The center of all selected objects lines up vertically.

  • Right: The right edge of all selected objects lines up vertically.

  • Top: The top edge of all selected objects lines up horizontally.

  • Vertical center: The center of all selected objects lines up horizontally.

  • Bottom: The bottom edge of all selected objects lines up horizontally.

Even spacing

Puts an equal amount of space between the selected objects.

  • Across: The text objects are evenly spaced horizontally.

  • Down: The text objects are evenly spaced vertically.

Center

  • Vertical: Places the center of the grouped objects in the middle of the page, length-wise.

  • Horizontal: Places the center of the grouped objects in the middle of the page, width-wise.

Delete objects

Removes the selected object from the statement.

Pin/Unpin objects

A toggle option. Pin to allow the object group to appear in the same place on multiple pages. Unpin displays the object group on the current page only.

Colors...

Displays the Color dialog box to apply color to the selected object(s).

Margins

Displays the Document margins dialog box to edit the top and bottom margins. The top margin can be set at a maximum of 6.5" from the top of the page. Top and bottom margins display as a black, dashed line. The First page only Bottom margin displays as a red, dashed line.

Guidelines

Displays the Add/remove guidelines dialog box for configuring or removing horizontal and/or vertical lines on the statement for lining objects.

OMR Configuration

Displays the OMR Configuration dialog box for configuring the placement of OMR marks. Marks are printed and read across the page, then down.
