Print Queues allow you to print multiple system documents to a single printer. A print queue must be associated with a physical printer. This association is accomplished through a procedure called mapping. To map a print queue, do the following:
Right-click on the OnBase Client desktop and select Workstation Options. Select the Print Queue Mapping tab.
The print queues that are already mapped are listed in the Print Queues Mapped box along with the printer to which they are mapped. Printers can appear in this list in either of two states:
-
Printers that have been mapped to a specific user-defined print queue - if desired, printers can be mapped to print queues created by your system administrator.
-
Printers that do not require mapping - Any printer that is recognized by your workstation's operating system does not require print queue mapping. Any printer that currently exists in your system configuration, as well as any printer that is added via the operating system, will automatically appear in the Print Queues Mapped box with the designation "Workstation Printer".
A Workstation Printer is a special designation that requires no print queue mapping. The name of the printer will appear in the Print Queue pull-down for selection, along with any user-defined print queues, when a print request is made.
