The OnBase Administrator or appropriate IT personnel should run Windows Performance Monitor during typical peak business hours to establish a baseline of performance. This can be very useful in the event of performance problems at the site. Comparing current performance statistics with a previous month's baseline statistics can easily identify suspect hardware performance with respect to memory, CPU, network, or disk activity.
At a minimum, the following counters should be monitored to give a high-level view of the performance of the server:
-
Memory: Pages/sec
-
Network Interface (all instances): Bytes Total/sec
-
Processor (_Total): %Processor Time
-
Physical Disk (_Total): Current Disk Queue Length
-
Physical Disk (_Total): Avg. Disk sec/Read
-
Physical Disk (_Total): Avg. Disk sec/Write
-
SQL Server: Buffer Manager: Page Life Expectancy
-
SQL Server: Databases (OnBase): Transactions/sec
