The Assign File types to Selected Doc Type dialog box allows you to specify which file types appear in the File Type drop-down list when importing a document in the OnBase Client. This allows you to create a list of recommended file types for the selected document type.

Note the following limitations when configuring available file types in the File Type list:

  • Leaving a file type off of the File Type list does not prevent a user from selecting a file with an incompatible type when manually browsing files.

  • Importing a file with a file type that is not compatible with the type selected from the File Type menu may cause errors, such as the file not being viewable within the OnBase Client.

  • If file types are assigned at both the Document Type and User Group levels, only file types included in both lists are available during import.

To configure the listed file types for a Document Type:

  1. In the Configuration module, select Document | Document Types. The Document Types dialog box is displayed.
  2. Select a Document Type and click File Types.
  3. The Assign File types to Selected Doc Type dialog box is displayed.
  4. In the Available list, select the file type(s) that are appropriate for the Document Type and click Add. The selected file type(s) display in the Selected list.
To remove selected file types, select the file types in the Selected list and click Remove.
  5. Click Close.
