When a Sybase SQL Anywhere database becomes too large, the performance slows due to the Keyword Type matching that is performed on the database level. The Use Other SQL Method option is used to optimize the performance of exporting or publishing from a Sybase SQL Anywhere database. This option is available while configuring a Keyword Type, under Export/Publishing Options. For more information, see Configuring Keyword Types.

If the time to produce the exported or published data dramatically increases, determine which Keyword Types may be responsible for the decrease in performance and enable the Use Other SQL Method setting for those Keyword Types. To determine which Keyword Types are decreasing performance, run a verbose report.

Tip:

You may improve performance by configuring the Export Format with the Use Alternative SQL Anywhere Select Method option.
