Product licensing can be configured on the Product Licenses dialog box. The Product Licenses Summary tab displays the available products and the number of licenses purchased for OnBase. The tabs on the Product Licenses dialog box correspond to the types of licenses.
-
Database/Institution Licenses- Institution licenses are licensed at the database level, and allow unlimited access to the associated module's functionality by any user that is logged into the database.
-
Workstation Licenses- Workstation Licenses allow a single instance of the module to be used on a designated computer or cluster. The Workstation License includes permission to install the module on up to two additional computers or clusters solely for the purposes of disaster recovery, integration, or testing by the institution to which the software is licensed.
Note:Workstation User Licenses do not support remote sessions.
Some Workstation Licenses can be registered as a Concurrent User License, Workstation User License, or Named User License.
To remove Workstation Licenses registrations, see Removing Workstation Licenses Registrations.
-
Check Processes- Check Process licenses represent specialized processors that have been developed for specific applications. If your system performs check processing, the system should only be licensed for a specific Check Process license.
-
Concurrent Licenses- A Concurrent License allows a single instance of the module to be used on any workstation or server.
Concurrent access allows an end user to install the Software Module on as many computers as they wish, but only the licensed number of Concurrent Users may use the Software Module simultaneously.
Concurrent Clients have a minimum connection (lease) time of five (5) minutes.
-
Citrix Licenses- A Citrix License allows a single instance of the module to be used on a single designated Citrix machine.
The Product Licenses dialog box contains the following tabs:
Type of Licensing |
Product Licenses Dialog Box |
---|---|
Workstation |
All available product modules. The current # of copies licensed for this installation. The # of copies registered indicates the number of workstations that have a particular product registered for use at that workstation. Note:
Workstation registration does not mean that all users of a particular workstation have rights to that product. Each user must also have individual product rights to use the associated functionality. To remove Workstation Licenses registrations, see Removing Workstation Licenses Registrations. |
Database / Institution |
All available product modules.
Some Database/Institution Licenses also have the option to disable the product. If the license has this option, a Disable Product button is displayed when the product is selected. Disabling a product means that the database upgrade required by the product does not have to be completed, allowing systems administrators to schedule a database upgrade at a different time from installing new product licenses. If a product is disabled, OFF appears in the Yes column and the Enable Product button is displayed. The product must be enabled, and the required database upgrade completed, before the product is available for use. |
