There is an advanced VBScript editor available that is more useful for longer scripts. The advanced editor looks and behaves the same as the default editor, except that VBScript command words (such as if, end if, do while, loop, etc.) are displayed in a different color and the line numbers are also displayed, making the script code easier to read.

To install the Hyland OnBase Script Editor:

  1. Double click the Hyland OnBase Script Editor.msi file. This installer is available from your first line of support, or from the \install\OnBase Script Editor\ folder of a typical OnBase Core distribution folder structure.
    Note:

The required version of Microsoft .NET Framework must be installed before installing the Hyland OnBase Script Editor.

  2. Click Next at the welcome dialog. The End-User License Agreement dialog is displayed.
  3. Read the end user license agreement displayed and select I accept the terms in the license agreement, then click Next. The Destination Folder dialog is displayed.
  4. Click Change to change the default installation location from the location listed.
    Note:

The Hyland OnBase Script Editor must be installed to the same location as the OnBase Configuration module executable (obcfg32.exe). In a default 32-bit installation, this executable is located at C:\Program Files\Hyland\OnBase Client\. In a default 64-bit installation, this executable is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Hyland\OnBase Client\

  5. Click Next. The Ready to Install the Program dialog is displayed.
  6. Click Next. The Installing Hyland OnBase Script Editor dialog is displayed.
  7. Click Finish once the installation is complete.
    Note:

Once the advanced script editor is installed, you must relaunch the OnBase Configuration module for the change to take effect.
