To import Windows services configurations from an exported backup file:
-
Launch the OnBase Client or Configuration module.
Note:
With User Account Control (UAC) enabled, the OnBase Client or Configuration modules must be launched with elevated administrator privileges in order to configure Windows Services. To launch the module with elevated administrator privileges, right click the executable or shortcut to it and select Run as administrator.
-
In the Configuration module, select Utils | Windows Services.
-
In the Client module, select Admin | Utilities | Windows Services.
The Services dialog box is displayed.
-
-
Click Import.
The Windows Open dialog box is displayed.
- Navigate to the exported XML file and select it.
- Click Open. The Service Configuration dialog box for the first service in the export file is displayed. Changes can be made to the service when it is imported.
-
Verify that the information for Service Settings and Service Dependencies is still valid.
Note:
If the OnBase user name and password was specified for the service on the Service Settings tab, that information is included in the import. The password is masked and cannot be visually verified. If the password may have changed since the export, re-enter the account information in the fields provided.
-
Click the Service Logon Settings tab. Verify that the correct identity is selected.
Note:
If Use Other Account is selected, you must re-enter the password for the user specified. The masked value is an invalid placeholder password.
- Click Save to restore the service.
-
If multiple services are being restored, the Service Configuration dialog box for each service in the export file is displayed. Click Save after verifying and updating the details of each service imported.
Tip:
