During an upgrade of OnBase, the Customer Information Server gathers the contact information of a system administrator and also creates a report of the basic elements of your OnBase implementation. This information is sent to Hyland Software via an Internet connection, if one is available, and is used to quickly identify and contact those customers in need of a specific Technical Bulletin, based on the basic configurations of their OnBase implementations.
The information is gathered during an upgrade because it is the most convenient time to obtain a snapshot of your system at an easily identifiable point in time. This information can also be manually updated and sent to Hyland Software by applying the -ROMANZO switch and navigating to Utils | Send Support Information in the Configuration module. Information for the Customer Information Server is not gathered at any other time.
Before using features enabled by the -ROMANZO switch, ensure that you understand the feature and implications of any changes to your system. Contact your service provider with any questions regarding these features. Features enabled by the -ROMANZO switch should not be made available to the casual user. Remove the -ROMANZO switch after completing necessary actions.
The Customer Information Server does not collect specific information regarding your implementation, such as Keyword Type names, Life Cycles, any document information, Workflow configuration, or any other information that could be proprietary in any way. The information gathered is not generally available to Hyland Software employees and it cannot be used to reverse engineer or replicate a customer's system.
