A newly created User Group can inherit User Group Rights from an already existing User Group by using the Copy button from the User Groups & Rights dialog box. The User Group Settings you may copy to a new User Group include following:

  • Document Types

  • Custom Queries

  • Privileges

  • Product Rights

  • Configuration Rights

Note:

Depending on your licensing, there may be other available User Group Settings you can copy.

To copy User Group Rights from an existing User Group:

  1. In the User Groups & Rights dialog box, select an existing User Group from which you would like to copy its rights.
  2. Click Copy. The User Group Copy Options dialog box displays.
  3. Enter a new User Group Name that will inherit the selected settings from the existing User Group.
  4. Select the User Group Settings to Copy of the existing User Group that you would like your new User Group to inherit.
    Note:

    You do not have to choose all settings assigned to the existing User Group.

  5. Click Retain Copy Options if you would like to save the selected settings for a future User Group you will create.
  6. Click Copy.

The new User Group is added into the system with any settings you chose to copy.
