In the Configuration module:

  1. Select Utils | Transfer Data to Database.
  2. The Transfer Utility Callback dialog box is displayed:
    Note:

    The Challenge Code field in the Transfer Utility Callback dialog box will contain a unique fifteen digit number.

  3. The configuration of the destination database cannot continue without contacting your OnBase solution provider, who will engage the Hyland Software tech support team. The Hyland Software tech support team will provide further guidance on the database transfer process.
  4. Enter the unique ten digit number obtained through the Hyland Software tech support team in the Response Code field of the Transfer Utility Callback dialog box.
  5. Click OK.

    The Destination Database dialog box is displayed:

    Note:

    The Data Source drop-down list and the User Name and Password fields are not available when the Create File option is selected.

  6. Select the ODBC name of the new database from the Data Source drop-down list. The existing database will connect to this database.
  7. Enter the user name in the User Name field.
  8. Enter the password in the Password field.
    Note:

    The User Name and Password should be those of a database administrator.

  9. Select a Task.
    Note:

    You must perform the Create File task before performing the Copy Database Using File task.

    Description

    Create File

    Select to create a single file of the existing database. This file must be stored on your local C:\ drive. It will be used during the Copy Database Using File task.

    Enter the full file path and document name in the File Path and Name field, or click the Browse button to specify a file from the Save As dialog box.

    Note:

    The following file formats are supported: .txt, .doc, .xls.

    Copy Entire Database

    Select to transfer all information from the existing database directly into the destination database. No external file is created.

    Copy Database Using File

    Select to transfer all database information that was compiled in the single file created using the Create File task into the destination database.

    Enter the full file path and document name in the File Path and Name field, or click the Browse button to select an existing file from the Save As dialog box.

  10. Click Logon.
    This connects you to the initial database and performs the selected Task described in the table.
  11. Once the data has been transferred, use Foundation DBUtils to create the missing table indexes.
    Note:

    ODBC errors may occur while using Foundation DBUtils. These errors occur when a table or column do not exist in the old database, but have been created in the new.
