One or more Cascading Data Sets can be configured for a Document Type. To assign a Cascading Data Set to a Document Type, the Document Type must have the Cascading Data Set's root Keyword Type assigned to it. Child Keyword Types that are not already assigned to the Document Type can be added to the Document Type when configuring Cascading Data Sets for a Document Type.

Tip:

Order the Keyword Types in the Keyword Type Assignment dialog box's Selected list to reflect the parent/child relationship of any Keyword Types that are part of a Cascading Data Set.

From the Keyword Type Assignment dialog box:

  1. Click the Cascading Data Sets button.
  2. The Cascading Data Sets dialog box is displayed:
  3. Select a Cascading Data Set from the Available drop-down list.
  4. Click Add.
    • If the Cascading Data Set's root Keyword Type isn't currently assigned to the Document Type, you are prompted to continue. Click OK to continue and to automatically assign the root Keyword Type to the Document Type.

    • If a child Keyword Type isn't currently assigned to the Document Type, you are prompted to continue. Click OK to continue and to automatically assign the specified Keyword Type(s) to the Document Type.

The Cascading Data Set is displayed in the Selected pane. To remove a Cascading Data Set, select it and click Remove.

  5. To check whether all Keyword Types in the Cascading Data Set have been assigned to the Document Type, double-click the Cascading Data Set from the Selected list.

The Cascading Data Set Info dialog box displays an asterisk next to any Keyword Types that are not currently assigned to the Document Type.

  6. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to add any additional Cascading Data Sets.
  7. Click Close.
