If it is necessary to add or modify masking on a Keyword Type that is already associated with Keyword Values stored in OnBase, contact your OnBase solution provider to engage the Hyland Software database team. Attempting to add or modify Keyword Type masking can cause Keyword Values of the affected Keyword Type to be incorrectly displayed or not displayed at all.
When viewing Keyword Values, values that are incorrectly displayed or are no longer displayed due to the addition or modification of Keyword Type masking, clicking Save overwrites the original Keyword Values with the values currently being displayed.
When viewing Keyword Values, values that are incorrectly displayed or are no longer displayed due to the addition or modification of Keyword Type masking, clicking Cancel or Close does not alter the original values and the Keyword Values remain in OnBase. If you restore the original Keyword Type masking, the Keyword Values are properly displayed again.
The following factors influence Keyword Type masking:

Keyword Type masks are always applied beginning with the leftmost mask character applied to the leftmost character of the Keyword Value.

When the Keyword Type mask has been configured to use the Store Mask Characters option, any static characters in the mask are stored in the database as part of the Keyword Value.

When the Keyword Type mask has been configured to use the Extract Mask Characters option, any static characters in the mask are not stored as part of the Keyword Value.
