The following limitations apply to the Enable Keyword Zero Padding option:

While configuring the Keyword Type:

  • Keyword padding is only supported for Alphanumeric Keyword Types.

  • Changing the data type from Alphanumeric to another data type deselects and disables the Enable Keyword Zero Padding option.

  • Keyword padding is supported with any combination of Storage and Character Case options.

  • Keyword padding is supported with Encrypted Alpha Keyword Types.

After the Keyword Type has been created:

  • If Enable Keyword Zero Padding is selected, the Enable Keyword Zero Padding option is disabled and cannot be deselected after the Keyword Type configuration is saved.

  • If masking is enabled, the Enable Keyword Zero Padding option is disabled and cannot be selected.

  • The Data Type cannot be changed if the Enable Keyword Zero Padding option is enabled.

  • The system must be locked out in order to enable the Enable Keyword Zero Padding option.

  • The system must be locked out in order to increase the length of a padded Keyword Type.

    Note:

When the system is locked out, new users will not be able to log on to OnBase. Existing user sessions are not affected. For more information, see the Apply System Lockout option.

  • You cannot decrease the length of a padded Keyword Type.
