Full Text Custom Queries allow users to search for documents by performing a full-text search.

In order to configure custom queries for full-text indexing, your solution must meet the following requirements:

  • Full Text Custom Queries are supported in the OnBase Client, Web Client, Unity Client, and Unity API.

  • Full Text Custom Queries are only available if your database is licensed for Full-Text Search.

  • The only Document Types available for Full Text Custom Queries are those that have been added to Full-Text catalogs.

To configure a Full Text Custom Query, in the Configuration module, select Queries | Custom Queries. Create a new query or select an existing full-text query to configure and click Full Text Query. Add all Document Type(s) by which the query will be limited. After assigning one or more Document Types, you can further limit searches by clicking Retrieval Keywords to assign Keyword Types to the Custom Query. The Keyword Types available for selection are the Keyword Types that are common to all selected Document Types.

Note:

If you do not select any Document Types, this Custom Query will be executed across all Documents Types in all existing Full-Text catalogs.

When a user runs a Full Text Custom Query without specifying a search string, but enters at least one Keyword Value, the query retrieves all documents from all selected Document Types that contain the Keyword Value(s). If a document has multiple values for a Keyword Type, the Document Search Results list displays the document multiple times, once for each value.
