To export Windows services configurations for backup purposes:

  1. Launch the OnBase Client or Configuration module.
    Note:

With User Account Control (UAC) enabled, the OnBase Client or Configuration modules must be launched with elevated administrator privileges in order to configure Windows Services. To launch the module with elevated administrator privileges, right click the executable or shortcut to it and select Run as administrator.

    • In the Configuration module, select Utils | Windows Services.

    • In the Client module, select Admin | Utilities | Windows Services.

The Services dialog box is displayed.

  2. Click Export.

The Services Export dialog box is displayed.

  3. Enter the path to export file to create, including the file name, in the Export Location field, or click Browse to navigate to the location and enter the file name. If you enter only a file name, the export file is created in the same directory as the OnBase executables.
    Note:

The export file is an XML file. The file name must end with the .xml file extension (for example, C:\my_export_path\filename.xml).

  4. Click each service to include in the export from the Services To Export list. Selected services are highlighted. Only the selected services are included in the export.
  5. Click Export. The export file is saved at the location specified.
    Note:

If an OnBase account is configured for a service on the Service Settings tab, the password for the OnBase account is encrypted in the export file even if Encrypt Password is not selected. The password for the domain account specified on the Service Logon Settings tab is never exported.
