This type of text cross-reference searches the body of the text documents configured for retrieval. In the retrieved documents, OnBase highlights the first instance of the text string used to trigger the cross-reference, letting the user quickly see where the text occurs.

Note:

Use Keyword Type text cross-reference can be used for retrieved documents of any file format. The Use Clicked Text method searches for text within the cross-referenced document, and only can be used to retrieve documents that are text file format. If the destination document is an image file format, you can use only the Use Keyword Type method to cross-reference.

  1. In the Configuration module, select Document | Document Types.
  2. At the Document Type dialog box, select the Document Type that will represent the current document (i.e., the document used to initiate the cross-reference). Click Cross-Reference s.
  3. At the Cross-Reference Assignment dialog box, add one or more Document Types to be cross-referenced.
  4. With the cross-referenced Document Type(s) selected, select the text linking mechanism by clicking Text. The Double Click Configuration dialog box displays.
  5. Select the Use Clicked Text for Text Search check box.
  6. Specify any character-stripping options. See Character Stripping Options for more information.
    Tip:

If desired, the text search can be restricted to only Document Types with certain Keyword Types.

  7. Click Save.
  8. Select Close to exit the dialog box.
