In order to initiate a cross-reference from an image document, an active area on the document must be defined. A specially designated double-click area on the document is used to trigger the cross-reference.

Both the double-click area, as well as the Keyword Type parameters for matching, must be configured for the cross-reference. Keyword Type parameters are configured using the Keyword Cross-Reference method. See Configuring a Keyword Cross-Reference for more information.

Note:

The Image Area cross-reference configuration (the Use Keyword for Text Search check box) also provides external text search capabilities for use in the cross-reference.
