- In the Configuration module, select Document | Document Types.
- Select the Document Type from the Document Type list and click Cross-References. The Cross-Reference Assignment dialog box is displayed.
-
Select the Document Type(s) to which the selected Document Type is to be cross-referenced, and click Image. The Double-Click Location dialog box is displayed:
-
Enter values for position fields that correspond to the boundaries of the double-click area on the source document.
-
The Top field is the number of inches between the top edge of the image document and the top of the double-click area. The default Top value is 0.00.
-
The Bottom field is the number of inches between the top edge of the image document and the bottom of the double-click area. The default Bottom value is 11.00.
-
The Left field is the number of inches between the left edge of the image document and the left edge of the double-click area. The default Left value is 0.00.
-
The Right field is the number of inches between the left edge of the image document and the right edge of the double-click area. The default Right value is 8.50.
Note:Although the default position values are displayed, they are not applied until the Double-Click Location dialog box is saved.
Note:If source documents have different resolutions (DPIs), the cross-reference area appears larger on images with lower DPIs than on images with higher DPIs. To ensure the cross-reference area is approximately the same size regardless of DPI, you can apply a Global Client Setting to Calculate cross-reference areas based on image DPI.

If the referenced Document Type is a text file format, an external text search of those documents can be performed by selecting the Use Keyword for Text Search check box.
Enable this check box, and select the Keyword Type (whose value will be used in the search) from the drop-down list. The value stored on the current document for the selected Keyword Type is used as the search string for the external text search when the cross-reference is initiated.
Only Keyword Types that exist on the source document will appear in the drop-down list. Only these Keyword Types can be used to search against the destination document(s).
Note:External text search can only be configured once for all Document Types in the Selected Document Types list (i.e., it is not possible to configure a different Keyword Type for each Document Type).
- When all parameters are satisfactory, click Save. The configured cross-reference can now be initiated from the current document in the Client module.
