Purging documents from Document Maintenance can incur a large drain on your OnBase solution's resources, especially if you are purging a very large number of documents. Scheduling a purge process is an easy way to automatically purge documents during off-peak hours and save solution resources.

Note:

Unlike other scheduled processes, a scheduled purge of documents in Document Maintenance can only be configured by accessing the Scheduler via the Document Maintenance window.

Processing modules, such as COLD, DIP, and Document Imaging, can also use scheduled processes to bring documents into OnBase. Attempting to run more than one process at once will result in a dramatic drop in all processing speeds; it is recommended to run a single automated process at a time.

Note:

Scheduled purge processes cannot be included as part of a scheduled Process Job.
