The Import Manager is used to bring a system-configured CD/DVD that has been exported from one OnBase document management system into another OnBase document management system. Any version of an exported CD/DVD can be imported into any version of OnBase.

When data is imported, its associated Document Types, Keyword Types, and Note Types can be mapped to different Document Types, Keyword Types, and Note Types in the receiving database.

Typically, Import Manager is used with an Export CD/DVD to bring data into an existing database. Import Manager can also be used to bring data into an existing database from a Published CD/DVD or to import data into an Aggregate Publishing Runtime Client.

To use the Import Manager, insert the CD/DVD to be imported in the appropriate CD/DVD drive.

Note:

If you import encrypted documents to an unencrypted Disk Group, the documents will no longer be encrypted.

  1. Select Admin | Import Manager from the OnBase Client module. The Import window is displayed.
  2. Enter the location of the .CD control file to import in the CD Control File, or click Browse to navigate to it.

Once the path to the .CD control file is entered, the Path to Database, Path to Data Files, and Company are automatically entered by the system, based on information from the .CD control file selected.

    Note:

If the Company Name is not specified in the .CD file, Unknown Company is displayed in the Company drop-down list.
