Testing the ability to restore documents and the OnBase database is one of the most important jobs for the OnBase Administrator. This process validates that the backups are running and that all data can be recovered in the event of a major system failure. This includes Disk Groups, database files, etc. The database should be restored, an ODBC source created, and then RecreateDBUsers.exe run against it to map the logons appropriately. At a minimum, one user should login to the restored copy of the database to validate that it can be accessed, and documents retrieved. Realize that if the Disk Groups are not restored, the user will not be able to view the physical files for OnBase documents.
