You can configure a Document Type to allow users to import image files and append them to existing image documents of that Document Type if the imported document has the same indexing information as an existing document. This is only available for Image File Format and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) documents.

Note:

The Allow Appending Pages on Import Document Type setting is not respected in the OnBase Client. While importing in the OnBase Client, the user decides whether to append the imported image file to an existing image document by using the Append Page To Existing Document option in the Import Document dialog box. This user action in the OnBase Client overrides the Allow Appending Pages on Import setting on the Document Type. See the section on importing a document in the Client documentation for more information.

To configure a Document Type to allow appending pages:

  1. From the OnBase Configuration module, select Document | Document Types. The Document Types dialog box is displayed.
  2. Select the Document Type that is to be configured to allow appending pages.
  3. Click Rendition/Revision. The Rendition/Revisions Control Settings dialog box is displayed.
  4. Select the Allow Appending Pages on Import option.
  5. Click Save.
