Data from an existing Keyword Data Set cannot be migrated directly to a Cascading Data Set, but it can be used to populate a Cascading Data Set.
To use existing Keyword Data Set data to populate a Cascading Data Set:
-
In the Client module, retrieve all documents from a Document Type configured with the Keyword Types that will be part of the Cascading Data Set.
For example, if you will be creating a Cascading Data Set using the State, County, and City Keyword Types, retrieve all documents from a Document Type configured to use these three Keyword Types.
- Select all documents in the Document Search Results list.
-
Right-click and select Create Keyword List.
Note:
For more information on creating a Keyword List, see the Client documentation.
- In the Generate List Report Based on Keywords dialog box, select the Keyword Types that will be part of the Cascading Data Set.
- In the Selected pane, order the Keyword Types according to their parent/child relationship.
- Specify a Delimiter and Separator.
- Click Browse to specify a location to save the output file.
- Click OK to generate the Keyword List.
-
Open the output file to verify that the Keyword Types appear according to their parent/child relationship.
For example, a system administrator creates an output file containing the State, County, and City Keyword Types. The system administrator's output file resembles the following:
"Ohio","Cuyahoga","Westlake" "Ohio","Cuyahoga","Fairview Park" "Ohio","Cuyahoga","Cleveland Heights"
The first Keyword Value, Ohio, is the State Keyword Type. The second Keyword Value, Cuyahoga, is the County Keyword Type. The last Keyword Value is the City Keyword Type. In this example, Keyword Values are separated by commas and delimited with double quotes. This is just one potential separator/delimiter combination that can be used in a Keyword List output file.
- Follow the steps in Importing Cascading Data Sets to import Keyword Values from the output file into a Cascading Data Set.
