The History button is available for scripts configured to Retain VB Script History in the Settings dialog. The History allows you to revert the script to a previous version, to undo any edits that have happened since that version.

A script without a History can be configured for versioning by selecting the Settings button in the VB Scripts dialog and selecting the Retain VB Script History check box.

CAUTION:

Once the Retain VB Script History option is enabled, it cannot be disabled. Since VB Scripts are saved as rows in the OnBase database, selecting this option will add a new row for each saved version of the script. Before selecting this option, the effects of retaining multiple scripts with multiple versions should be considered in regard to database size.

To roll back a script to a previous version:

  1. In the VB Scripts dialog box, select the script to roll back and click History. The VB Script History dialog box is displayed.
  2. Select the version to roll back to and click Rollback.
    Tip:

Clicking View displays the VB Script Text window and allows you to see the code of the selected version, in order to verify the changes that occurred between versions. You cannot edit the script in the VB Script Text window.

  3. After clicking Rollback, you are prompted to replace the current version of the script with the selected version. Click Yes to roll back the script, or click No to cancel.
  4. At the VB Script Comment dialog, a default comment is entered for the rolled back version. You can accept the default comment, add to it, or change it. You must enter a comment for the roll back to be saved. Click Save.
    Note:

The rollback version of a script is saved as a new version in the History. The original version is also retained.
