When upgrading OnBase to a new version, the user is prompted for a verification code before the upgrade can be completed. This code can only be obtained from your first line of support and is designed, in part, to prevent unauthorized changes to your system.
During an upgrade, the Customer Information Server gathers basic information about your OnBase implementation, and who to contact if a data-integrity issue is discovered that could impact your system. For details on what type of information is collected by the Customer Information Server and how that information is used, see The Customer Information Server.
After upgrading the OnBase executables, the first time a user logs on to the Configuration module the Database Upgrade Confirmation dialog is displayed.
To begin an upgrade of OnBase:
- Read the Terms and Conditions in full. (See also, The Customer Information Server.)
- Under Upgrade Information, verify that your Hyland Software Customer Number is accurate. If not, contact your first line of support to assist you in completing the upgrade.
- Enter a Contact Name For Upgrade in the field supplied. This should be the name of a system administrator able to respond to issues identified in Technical Bulletins.
- Enter a Contact Email For Upgrade in the field supplied. This should be the email address of the system administrator named in the Contact Name For Upgrade field.
- Under Verification Codes, you must enter a valid Response Code in the field supplied. The Response Code is available from your first line of support and is based upon the Update Code assigned to your upgrade.
- Click OK. To complete the upgrade, see the section on upgrading the database using Foundation DBUtils.
