The Cryptography Settings dialog box allows you to configure a specific encryption suite for OnBase. The encryption suite configured is used to encrypt credentials stored in the OnBase database and keys that are used internally by the software.

The encryption suite used by OnBase is a database-level change that may require all clients accessing OnBase to be upgraded to a specific version of OnBase. Changing the encryption suite and version compatibility may also require other areas of OnBase to be configured to align with the current cryptography settings.

In order to access the Cryptography Settings dialog box, the user logged in to the Configuration module must have the following rights:

  • System Configuration configuration right (under General Settings)

  • Database Management product right (under Configuration)

Note:

The Cryptography Settings do not change the encryption algorithm used by Encrypted Disk Groups or Encrypted Alpha Keyword Types, but certain Cryptography Settings may affect which algorithms are available and should be used for those elements of your solution. See Cryptography Settings Additional Considerations.
