From the Lockout Users tab of the Database Settings dialog box, you can lock your OnBase system. After the system is locked, users cannot log in. Currently logged-on users are not affected and should be notified to log out of the system.

Tip:

Use this functionality when upgrading or performing other critical database operations. It is considered a best practice to do this during off-peak hours.

To apply a system lockout:

  1. From the Lockout Users tab of the Database Settings dialog box, select the Apply System Lockout option.
  2. Use the Workstation and/or User Account drop-down lists to specify the workstation and/or user name that will be able to log in to the Configuration module and OnBase Client during the system lockout. All other clients are inaccessible during lockout.
    Note:

The selected user must have both the Configuration product right and System Configuration configuration right. An error message is displayed after the next step if the User Account selection is invalid. The selected user must also have the Client product right to access the OnBase Client during lockout.

  3. Click Save.
  4. You are prompted to confirm that you want to lock the system. Click Yes to continue.
Your OnBase system is locked from further login attempts. Users that attempt to log in are presented with a dialog box stating that system lockout is in effect.
  5. Complete the operation that required system lockout.
  6. After completing the operation that required system lockout, deselect the Apply System Lockout option.
  7. Click Save.
Users are able to log in to OnBase.
