The currently installed database can be validated by comparing its tables or indexes with the database of the latest version of OnBase. The hard-coded Foundation DBUtils tables or indexes for the database version of the latest OnBase executable are compared with the installed OnBase database tables or indexes, and a text file report of the differences is created. This SQL format text file contains the necessary SQL scripts to bring the database in line with the latest database version. Please contact your solution provider for review of this output file.

To compare tables or indexes with the latest version:

  1. From the Configuration module, select Utils | Database | Table/Index Comparison.
  2. The Initializing Comparison Data progress indicator is displayed, and the comparison data is initialized. Depending on the database size, this may take several seconds.
  3. The Database Version Comparison dialog box is displayed.
  4. To view the text file report after comparison, select View Comparison File After Creation.
    Note:

If this option is not selected, the text file will be created in the application directory but will not be automatically displayed.

  5. Select Compare Tables With Latest Version compare database tables, or select Compare Indexes With Latest Version to compare database indexes.
  6. The data comparison progress indicator is displayed. Depending on the database size, data comparison may take several minutes.
  7. The Information [948] dialog box is displayed. If there are tables or indexes that need to be modified to bring the database up to date, the Warning! dialog box is displayed.
  8. Click OK.
  9. If View Comparison File After Creation was selected, the created comparison text file is displayed.
