CAUTION:

Only import into the system from which you originally exported. In other words, do not export a text file from one system and import it into another. This is not supported and can cause unexpected results, even if the systems appear similar to one another.

To import translated values to a specified language:

  1. Click on Utils | Interface Translations | Create and Modify Translations.

The Create and Modify Translations dialog box is displayed.

  2. Select the language you would like to import values into and click Import.

The Import Translations dialog box is displayed.

  3. Enter the location and the name of the import file into the field, or click Browse to navigate to the file.
  4. Choose from the following options:

    Setting

    Description

    Delimiter

Define the character that encloses each field item in the import file:

Single Quote: Single quotes enclose each item in the file (e.g., '596 Main St.', 'Minneapolis, MN 59634').

Double Quote: Double quotes enclose each item in the file (e.g., "596 Main St.", "Minneapolis, MN 59634").

None: Delimiters are not used in the file (e.g., 596 Main St., Minneapolis, MN 59634).

Delimiters are commonly used when a separator is present within the field.

    Note:

Translation items and translated values that exceed one line cannot be imported without a delimiter.

    Separator

The character or method in which values are separated in the import file:

Comma: A comma separates each item in the file.

Tab: A tab separates each value in the file.

Custom: Allows you to enter the character used to separate values in the file.

    Overwrite existing translations

Translated values in the import file overwrite existing translated values contained in OnBase for the specified language.

  5. Click Import.
You are notified how many existing values were updated and how many new values were added. A detailed report is generated and stored in the SYS Configuration Reports Document Type.
