The Test System Creation utility creates a test environment using an existing OnBase production database. The test environment allows system administrators to make and evaluate changes to the system without having to implement and test the changes in the active production system.

The data copied during the test system creation process is that which defines the structural objects of an OnBase system (for example, Document Types, Keyword Types, or Note Types), but it is not intended to copy all of the individual instances of these objects (for example, documents, keyword values, or notes placed on documents). Using the Test System Creation utility, system documents, such as Bitmaps, Icons, Overlays, and HTML forms, are copied to the test environment. Optionally, additional data contained in the production environment Disk Groups can be copied by specifying a Custom Query to be run in the production environment.
