Most configured objects, especially those that are associated with a window, have icons associated with them. These icons help you identify the object and the window by both icon and name. If an icon has been assigned to an object, the icon/object combination will appear in select lists and as part of the minimized window.
If the object supports the association of pictures with the names of the objects, click Icon on the related dialog box to add an icon. The Icons for dialog box will display. This dialog box allows you to specify an Icon and a Small Icon for the object.
The Icon field is only used for older versions of the Windows operating system, which minimized windows to individual icons. Newer versions of Windows, which minimize windows to the caption bar, do not use the icon alone. Instead the icon is combined with the window name.
To set the icon for an object, select it from the Icon drop-down list. The Icon drop-down list will be filled with images saved into the SYS System Icons Document Type. There are a number of default icons archived into the system during installation. You can add icons by archiving the new file as a document of the SYS System Icons Document Type.
Large icons are mainly used in the Workflow module as icons for the graphical layout of a life cycle.
The Small Icon field is used in all operating systems. This is the bitmap icon that will be displayed in select lists in OnBase. If the window is minimized to the caption bar, this bitmap icon will also be displayed on the left side of the caption bar.
The Small Icon drop-down list will be filled with those documents archived into the SYS System Bitmaps Document Type. During installation a number of default documents will be archived to the SYS System Bitmaps Document Type. To add a new small icon to the drop-down list, archive the file for the new small icon into the SYS System Bitmaps Document Type.
The recommended maximum size of a large icon is 32X32 pixels; a small icon is 15x15 pixels. The images must be the same number of pixels high as they are wide. Icons that do not meet these standards may not be usable in your OnBase system.
