Beginning in OnBase Foundation 22.1, the ActiveX Web Client is replaced with a single client type, the Web Client. If you are using the ActiveX Web Client and upgrading to OnBase Foundation 22.1, you must use the single Web Client (previously referred to as the HTML Web Client) to fulfill your needs.

Some previous features of the ActiveX Web Client require the installation of Desktop Host. However, Desktop Host is not required for most features and functionalities in the Web Client. If you are using any of the following modules or features in the Web Client, see the associated module's documentation for more information:

  • Application Enabler
  • Digital Signatures
  • Document Composition
  • Document Imaging: Scanning pages
  • Document Packaging
  • Office Business Application: Opening Microsoft Office documents with the Office integration
  • Virtual Print Driver: Monitoring for virtual print jobs and streaming images to a web application

For more information on installing Desktop Host, see the Desktop Host installation sections in the Web Server module reference guide.
