If you are upgrading from a version of OnBase prior to OnBase Foundation EP1, you must add the Epic timestamp token to URLs for OnBase applications that use Epic authentication. Authentication will fail if a valid timestamp is not included in the encrypted query string.

This requirement affects the following applications:

  • DocPop

  • OnBase Patient Window

  • DeficiencyPop

  • Patient Portal Link (Integration for Epic MyChart)

Beginning in OnBase Foundation EP1, the Epic authentication logic requires URLs to include a timestamp token in the query string. Timestamps are verified against the UTC time in the OnBase database. The variation allowed between the Epic timestamp and the database time can be configured in OnBase Configuration under Utils | External Systems. The default variation allowed is five minutes.

For more information, see the Integration for Epic module reference guide and the documentation for the OnBase application integrated with Epic.
