Unicode characters are not supported in the OnBase Mail dialog box or in the file names of email attachments. If you enter Unicode characters in the OnBase Mail dialog box, they will be replaced with question marks (" ? ") after the message is sent. If you include Unicode characters in the file name of an email attachment, one of the following will occur:

  • The Unicode characters in the file name will be replaced with question marks (e.g., Account for Customer ???????.pdf).

  • The entire file name will be replaced with a generic, temporary file name (e.g., MS4C7.pdf).
