You can place documents you want to work with in a folio. A folio is similar to an OnBase envelope. Folios allow users to take OnBase documents offline. When a folio is opened, it displays a list of documents that have been placed in it. The documents remain accessible through standard document retrieval methods when working online.

Because the document in a folio is actually a pointer to the document stored in OnBase:

  • Removing a document from a folio will not delete the document from OnBase.

  • Adding documents to folios does not actually duplicate the document in OnBase.

  • There is no limit as to the amount of documents that can be placed in a folio.

  • You can add a document to more than one folio.

There are two types of folios: Folios created by users and System Folios created by administrators. Folios are created and configured by any user with Folio privileges and are only available to that user. System Folios are created and configured by administrators and are only available to the specific OnBase User Groups assigned by the administrator. Administrators are able to add and remove documents from System Folios at their discretion.
