The Unity Briefcase identifies conflicts between documents in the workstation's database and documents in the OnBase database during synchronization. For example, a user downloads a document to his or her workstation's database and modifies a note on the copy of the document. Meanwhile, another user modifies the same note on the copy of the document stored in OnBase. These notes no longer match.

When the Unity Briefcase identifies a conflict, users are prompted to resolve these conflicts before synchronization can continue. When conflict resolution is complete, the workstation's database and the OnBase database contain the same information.

Users are prompted to resolve conflicts by the Merge Synchronization Conflicts dialog box:

To resolve conflicts:

  1. Select a conflict in the Changed Items pane.

    The Changed Items pane displays the following information about conflicts:

    Column

    Description

    Item Type

    Displays the type of conflict.

    For example, Note means that a Note conflict was encountered.

    Document Handle

    Displays the Document Handle of the document.

    Change Status

    Displays the status of conflict resolution.

    Details

    Displays details about the conflict.
