If the Unity Management Console is configured to allow for the creation of duplicate tasks, the Duplicate option is available in the Action pane as well as in the right-click menu when selecting existing tasks. Duplicating tasks may be useful if you want to create a task that is very similar to an existing task, such as additional tasks for sending notifications.

Note:

You cannot duplicate system tasks or disabled tasks.

To create duplicates of an existing task:

  1. In the Console tree, select the task scheduler containing the task you want to duplicate.
  2. Click Tasks.
    The Tasks pane is displayed.
  3. From the Tasks pane, select the task you want to duplicate.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • In the Action pane, click Duplicate.
    • Right-click the task and select Duplicate.
The Make duplicates of tasks dialog box is displayed.
  5. From the drop-down menu, select the number of duplicates of the task to make.
  6. Click OK.
The duplicate tasks appear as TaskName_#, with TaskName being the name of the original task and # being a number that increments by 1 for each duplicate created. For example, if a task with the name Send Email is set to have 2 duplicates, the following tasks are created: Send Email_1 and Send Email_2.
