When using the OnBase Client or OnBase Configuration, ODBC connections are required. ODBC drivers must match the database server version you are using. For an updated list of requirements, refer to the Technical Requirements Overview for New Installations and Upgrades.

In addition to having the correct drivers for the correct database version, it is important to make sure that your drivers are not outdated. Customers have reported multiple problems that were traced to outdated ODBC drivers.

Check your ODBC drivers as a part of your upgrade procedure. All workstations and servers that use an ODBC driver to connect to the OnBase database should be verified.

Note:

Failure to keep ODBC drivers up to date could lead to logon failures, deadlocks, memory allocation issues, or unexplained IIS restarts.
