The default spool directory for print jobs is initially set during installation. To change the default spool directory using the Virtual Printer Configuration dialog box, do one of the following:

  • Enter a new directory name in the Default Spool Directory field.

  • Click the Browse button to browse out to the new directory.

Click the %UserName% button to append the %username% variable to the default spool directory. When used in conjunction with the UseLocalUser option, this will allow users to send jobs to their own spool directory for processing. You can also manually add the %guid% or %machine% variable, if needed.

For information about variables, see Available Variables.

Note:

Unless you are printing to a shared directory and then sweeping the documents into OnBase, you must use the UseLocalUser and %UserName% options when running the Virtual Print Driver on a Remote Desktop environment or on a machine that may have multiple users logged on simultaneously.

Note:

The last folder specified in the path can be created automatically when a job is sent to the directory. However, if any of the parent folders do not exist, an error is displayed when you attempt to save the new configuration.
