The File Format drop-down list controls the type of compression used when saving image files:

  • <default>- select this option to save files using LZW compression. This option is selected by default.

  • TIFF_JPEG- select this option to save files using JPEG compression.

    CAUTION:

The TIFF_JPEG option is not compatible with the Graphics Device Interface (GDI) library, which some Microsoft applications use to render images. Images compressed using the TIFF_JPEG option must be rendered using applications that support the OBIMGLIB library. The OnBase document viewers support OBIMGLIB and can display images compressed using the TIFF_JPEG option.

  • TIFF_LZW- select this option to save files using LZW compression.
