When creating an image file, a bi-tonal (black-and-white) document is many times smaller than a color image. This smaller file size often makes bi-tonal images more convenient to work with or send over a network connection.
By default, the Virtual Print Driver prints in black and white. However, this setting can occasionally be changed or applications may override this setting to print in color. You can, however, force the Virtual Print Driver to always print in black and white.
