By default, the Virtual Print Driver is configured to use the OBIMGLIB data library. This library has a better color matching algorithm and uses slightly smaller image sizes when compared to the GDI data library.

The GDI data library has improved performance when handling large multi-page files. However, the color matching algorithm is not as accurate as the one used in the OBIMGLIB data library.

To configure the Virtual Print Driver to use the GDI library, follow these steps:

  1. Open the vprinter.ini file. By default, it is installed in the C:\Windows\ folder.
  2. Add the following line to the vprinter.ini file in the [Configuration] section:

    ForceGDI=1.

    CAUTION:

    The GDI data library is not compatible with TIFF_JPEG compression. If you want to use TIFF_JPEG compression, you must use the OBIMGLIB data library.

To disable this feature and allow the Virtual Print Driver to use the OBIMGLIB data library, change the setting to ForceGDI=0.
