This issue may occur if you print to a shared instance of the Virtual Print Driver on a network server and your workstation has a local installation of the Virtual Print Driver. If the shared instance of the Virtual Print Driver is configured for client-side rendering, then the job will be printed to the spool directory configured for the Virtual Print Driver on your local workstation.
Client-side rendering allows print jobs to be rendered on the workstation that submitted the job rather than on the server where the printer is installed. To ensure jobs are printed to the spool directory configured for the shared instance of the Virtual Print Driver, disable client-side rendering for the shared instance.
To disable client-side rendering:
- Open Devices and Printers on the server where Virtual Print Driver is shared.
- Right-click the Virtual Print Driver and select Printer properties.
- Click the Sharing tab.
- Under Share this printer, disable Render print jobs on client computers.
- Click OK.
