This issue may occur if the PDF document is encrypted using a trusted certificate and the workstation printing the document uses Adobe Reader XI or Adobe Acrobat XI to display PDFs.
To avoid this issue, do one of the following:

Use Adobe Reader X or Adobe Acrobat X (instead of XI) on workstations that use Virtual Print Driver to print or process documents.

Disable protected mode within Adobe Reader XI or Adobe Acrobat XI on the workstations that use Virtual Print Driver to print or process documents.
