To be able to add portlets to a layout, a user group must be assigned privileges to the portlet types. Portlet privileges are not required for viewing portlets within a layout.
On systems concurrently running multiple versions of OnBase, some OnBase versions may include portlets that are not available in earlier versions. A portlet is available only within the OnBase versions where the portlet is supported. Within the earlier versions, you can assign privileges to the portlet using the Administration pane, but the portlet will not be available for layout configuration, and the portlet will not be displayed in existing layouts where it has been added using a newer OnBase version.
