If a registered application has a full text catalog configured for it, you can full text search for WorkView objects. The following is an example of a full text indexing search field for an application.

To conduct a full text search:

Note:

By default, the first configured catalog that a user has rights to is searched.

  1. Select the appropriate full text catalog by clicking on the down arrow on the right side of the field and select the catalog you want to search in from the Catalogs drop-down list.
  2. Enter the search criteria in the field. When multiple words are entered, the search is performed for each individual word. If you want to search for a phrase, enclose the words with quotations marks.
  3. Click the Search button. The results list will display in a tab specific to the search performed.
  4. You can double-click on an item in the results list item to open the object. You can also press Ctrl on the keyboard and select multiple items to open. Double-click on one of the selected items while pressing the Ctrl key to open the selected items.

You can expand an item in the search results to view details about the item before opening it by clicking on the plus sign to the left of the item.

You can export your results to Microsoft Excel by clicking the Export to Excel from the Filter ribbon.

You can expand all items in the results list to view the details by clicking the Expand All button in the Filter ribbon.

You can collapse all items in the results list to view the details by clicking the Collapse All button in the Filter ribbon.
